MACARONI KID VISITS MEDIEVAL TIMES

{Sponsored Content}

July 15, 2016
This week we were invited to attend Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Having never been to this much talked about dinner attraction, I was excited to travel through time to a forgotten age where "chivalry, rivalry and revelry" reigned!

From the moment we entered, it was as though we had entered 11th Century Spain with staff welcoming us in character (with costume and accents)! We were given a crown before entering the arena and this determined not only where we sat but also which kingdom we would belong to (and thus which knight we would be cheering for.)  The kids were fired up before the show even began.

The first half of the show developed the plot line and kept us all entertained (with dancing horses, dazzling falconry and knights throwing roses to the crowd) while we plowed through a meal figuratively fit for a king! We feasted on garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, sweet buttered corn, herb-basted potato and an apple turnover. (And of note- all sans utensils!)

During the second half of the show we watched "epic battles of steel and steed" and cheered loudly for our brave yellow knight while "boo-ing" as loudly for our arch enemy blue knight.

When the show was over, we left with bellies full, and hearts happy. Julia and Brendan thought it was the most fun they've had all summer!

Finally, be sure to arrive early as seating is "first come- first serve" and there is lots to do and see while waiting for the show to begin!
