Owners, Heather and Peter Capelle of Mamaroneck, long-time managers of Applause Westchester, are now thrilled to share their love of performing and teaching. Their goals are to celebrate the performing arts and to cultivate confidence in their students.
This spring my daughter Lia took their Broadway Babies class and loved every minute of it. She was exposed to the classics like Mama Mia, Beatlemania, Fiddler on the Roof and Peanuts. It’s rare to find a class that keeps 2 and 3 years olds engaged for 45 minutes. We will definitely be heading back to Artistree for another class this summer.
Artistree Summer Offerings:
Camp Artistree will run 13 weeks of camp - from June 6 - September 2
Preschool - 3-5 years - Starts June 6 - September 2
Every morning our fabulous teachers will introduce music and theater to your child and put the spotlight on them! Your child's day will include acting games, dance classes, singing, and arts & crafts. We also have outside fun time at the Harbor Island Park, located right across the street! On Friday, there'll be a special performance for parents and friends to showcase what was learned during the week. If your child loves to perform, and you want to keep them busy during vacation, then join us for Stars Camp!
K- 5th - Starts June 13 - September 2
Your children will experience performing all day long! Each day your child will cycle through classes such as acting, singing, audition technique, hip-hop, costume design, and so much more. We also have outside fun time at the Harbor Island Park, located right across the street! At the end of the week, there'll be a special performance for parents and friends. If you're looking for something to do for your child while they're not in school, then this is the place to be!
5th-8th Grade - One Week Intensive - July 11- July 15
Our campers entering 5th–8th grade in the Fall will get advanced versions of our camp standards: singing, acting, Hip-Hop, Broadway dance, improvisation, theater games and rehearsal, but will focus heavily putting on an actual show. Our one week intensive culminates in a "mini-musical" and our three week camp produces a full-length show. Because the students will work on an advanced singing curriculum and sophisticated choreography, previous experience in musical theater is recommended, but not required. Campers will have a visit from a Broadway Star too.
5th-12th grade (2) Three-Week Intensives - July 11- July 29 and August 1 - August 19
